In order to finance its statutory mission, remediation of humanitarian suffering in the Third World, HIOB International operates a chain of second-hand shops throughout Switzerland. These constitute independent business units, accept donated goods from private persons as well as commercial businesses, pick-up furniture that can be re-sold free of charge and sell the goods at fair prices in their sales locations. They also clear out houses and apartments and small-scale relocations (mostly in the case of partial vacating of a premises, e.g. moving into an old-age home).

Most second-hand shops have customer parking available in front of the location or nearby. Deliveries of goods can be reported at the register or to the shop manager. In the case of heavy articles the team will be glad to assist in unloading.

If you need a house or apartment cleared out, please contact the nearest HIOB-Second-hand shop directly. The shop manager will inspect your situation on site and make you a clearance offer. On conclusion of a contract, around a third of the total amount will be due, with the remainder due 30 days after issue of the billing statement.

HIOB International pays its employees salaries that meet the industry standard. You can find detailed statistical information in the published annual reports under Downloads.
